Lemonheads, It’s a Shame About Ray, 1992

Heard “It’s a shame about Ray” on CBC Radio 2 yesterday in the car. Yeah, RADIO. Anyway, reminded me about a forgotten incident 23,675 lifetimes ago when I went to see the Lemonheads at Hammerjacks in Baltimore, MD on tour for this record. I remember being far more impressed with some Canadian band named Sloan that I’d never heard of before, who had the middle slot that night. So impressed was I that I bought their ‘Underwhelmed’ EP at the merch table. For those keeping track, the opener was Low Pop Suicide – who I also dug. Remember kids, ‘The point is not the grammar, It’s the feeling.’ The rest, as they say, is history.
